LAB UK Ltd are an independent asbestos consultancy solely owned by its directors, it has no affiliation with any other company nor does it have any silent partners. LAB UK remains at the forefront of best practice in an industry that is dedicated to reducing asbestos related deaths in the UK.
We are accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) to ISO 17020 (Inspection) & ISO 17025 (Testing)
Our accreditation covers asbestos surveying & bulk identification, air sampling, fibre counting & four stage clearance.
Our accreditation was awarded in 1984 when the accreditation body was known as NATLAS. The company has undergone a number of name changes for the purposes of rebranding and changes of ownership, but has maintained its senior management and analytical field staff.
We have been trading for 30years. During this time our clients have included government departments, British and American military bases, local authorities, hospitals, hotels & utilities (National Grid, NLGA, Morrisons). We also carry out work in the private sector for both industrial (e.g. retail, social housing) and domestic (e.g. private individuals) clients.
We participate and continue to maintain a satisfactory performance in the following quality assurance schemes
Regular Inter Laboratory Counting Exchange (RICE) Scheme for fibre counting
Asbestos In Materials Scheme (AIMS) for asbestos in bulk samples

We have 10 fully fitted and equipped mobile laboratories enabling our qualified technicians to produce accurate results on site.
Our service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Our reports are produced electronically on custom designed software which is built and maintained in-house.
All of our qualified technicians hold British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) P403 and P404 proficiency certificates and are vastly experienced in all aspects of asbestos air monitoring & four stage clearance procedures.
Our analysts, who identify asbestos in materials (Bulk Analysis) hold P401 certificates.
Our surveyors hold P402 certificates.
None of these proficiency certificates (P Certs) make a good technician or surveyor.
What does make good technician or surveyor is the ongoing training and experience they receive in-house and externally.
