It looks like i also have fallen foul to Jon applebee's Deceit. I simply arranged a repair for a GP1200R crankshaft only to be met by demands for money ficticous invoices and even a desperate attempt to have me pay his wife claiming she was his secratary personally prior to my parts even arriving at the business address. He has now started to email threats at all hours stating I am harrassing him I feel too intimidated to reply or converse with him. If you have also been a victim of fraud and lies through Applebee engineering i am currently building a case with Essex police alongside action fraud if you have a story to tell which will help get this sorted and hopefully reduce the damage this man is doing to the industry please contact me on nigelfreeman1972@outlook.com.
Scammed
I've heard of Chris Applebee Engineering Services for many years and recently I believe I'm being scammed by the new director Jon Applebee. I was contacted by Jon Applebee for payment 16th Nov '23 for a rebuild crank and paid on his request immediately, he has sent me an Astrax image of a crank build by Applebee. He kept on promising sending a crank but there is nothing. I asked my money back (> 1,000 GBP) and he promised to refund. But now after many weeks and messages he is not answering any message anymore. I'm not from the UK and I'm figuring out yet how to take this man through a small claims court. If anybody can help I would appreciate this very much. Please be aware and don't give this man any money as he cannot be trusted.

Sadly sent off my crank before I'd read all the appalling feedback. He called me a couple of days later to say it had all been done and needed payment. I did this immediately and after a few lame excuses about the courier losing it has now stopped responding. In the process of sueing him now. Also reported him to the police.

After using Chris Applebee for many years and been very pleased with them his son has taken over and scammed me. The business is subject to a compulsory strike off order, so if you want to do a small court claim, check how to stop the strike off order. Jon Applebee is the director of another business that also has a strike off order. Check your invoice and research the VAT number he is using, you might find it is for his other company. Just be careful people, there are people out there using the reputation of good companies to scam us.
Theft of my crankshaft & payment taken £678
I've used Chris Applebee Engineering Services for almost 25yrs and recently been mugged by the new director Jon Applebee. I was contacted by Jon Applebee for payment 26th Oct and paid immediately, he's sent me an image of a parcel with an APC label on addressed to me but APC have informed me he cancelled the collection immediately after raising the job. Despite many messages from me & calls I still do not have my crankshaft. I'm now in the process of taking him through the small claims court in an attempt to retrieve my money plus the value of the crank. Dont give this company any work as they cannot be trusted.

DO NOT USE never sent our crank shaft or bearings back, taken a payment and blocked our number. Out of pockets thousands. Scam !! We will have to got through a small claims court now to hope to re cover costs.

Bad work lies ,cheats
After 25 years of using Chris applebee engineering,been mugged right off sent crankshaft off to them , quote &380,bill £620,sent back in a mess , photos on Facebook and comments,used crap bearing ,still dirt and rust one new bearing won't turn,rang back abuse and swearing,said why tell social media and show pictures,what a bunch of wa"*kers do not use ,got to now pay to have put right right
